Homers

Decos that come home are like little mail miracles, are they not? To me they seem as rare as a message in a bottle, sent adrfit...and they wash up on shore after shore...and somehow drift home. Of the over 100 decos I have sent into the world over a 3 year period, 8 have come home. In fact, the eighth arrived in yesterdays mail, and had been traveling since May of 2005. Hope Clinchot created this Visions of Africa deco, and its pages were filled by artists from around the US and as far away as New Zealand. Thank you to all you contributed, and to Kathleen for sending it home!
Here it sits in a place of honor in the "gallery" of my studio.

I have never had one return home---but I am still hopeful!! I kind of like the idea of my art floating around out there in the world. I am still optimistic that I will see some of my decos again!

How exciting to welcome home your eight child! Sometimes it feels like that, doesn't it? Releasing them, into the wild world. Wondering where they will travel to and hoping that they make it home safely.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, sometimes they meet your expectations, but more often that not, they go their OWN way into the world and take a part of you with them!

You are a wonderful mother to your children and your art!
